I should add that he will be doing some launch testing at the 1/8th mile in Irwindale, CA on Thurs 5/10 and then planning on 1/4 mile racing the following weekend in Fontana, CA. It would be great if lots of rotary fanatics would come out to support him since he's been out for a while.

I looked that their web site too. Seems like they put a lot of R&D into their stuff. I might have to pickup that wastegate.

 

That's the best sounding rotary I've ever heard. At idle it reminds me of a big camming V8. Which is one the world's best sounds.

 

I can't communicate how clean that engine sounded. Music, pure music. As you can see my video camera isn't the greatest, it doesn't do justice for the sound at all.

The only reason why it was smoking in the beginning is that the turbo puked a seal the day before so there was alot of oil in the turbine housing that needed to burn off. I'll be there when he races in a week and I will try to bring an HD camera and see if I can get a better vid.

Where can you find out more info on those wastegates? I've seen a site where you can buy them but it just says, 001a 001b etc, what are the sizes? Their website doesn't tell either.

I remember that car was at Sevenstock 7, they started that beast up in the quadron area of the Mazda R&D building..HO-LY COW!! When the wastegate opened it sounded like artillery fire!

I seems to have picked up a few hundred hp since then, I think the car had 1500 hp before. Does anybody know the old hp numbers?

 

Wonder if the rules will allow him to be competitive. Seems like rotaries always get the bad deal in every organized racing class.
