83 'Rotary Rocket' Fully Built Show Car
83 'Rotary Rocket' Fully Built Show Car
My brother-in-law owned a body shop back in the day. He was hired to build a RX-7 show car and fully build the engine.
After it was done the guy gave it to him.
here is the result, sitting in his garage, stuck in the 80s, very dusty and with only 2502 miles on everything!
I thought some of you guys would get a kick out of this one...

Geez! I like the way it was done. It reflects that era in many ways. The highlight for me is the 48ida w/ a 13b. Very nice! Post this in the 1st gen section too!
I wish.... He has thought about selling it, but it will be hard to find the right buyer.
he said that because it has sat for so long (about 7 years since it was last started) he would need to drop the gas tank to replace something, and probably do a small amount of work to the carburetor.

I like it a lot
you need to change the gas and maybe clean out the tank. I would change the oil and antifreeze, and I would put 2 stroke oil in the spark plug holes and turn the engine over with no fuel. Take apart the carb and clean out the fuel bowl and the jet and you should be good.
just ideas to be safe

From: South Flo-rida..south jersey originally
besides all the custom work..mine had about the same mileage, and just as good condition, before some-lady hit me..very nice car, your very lucky..plus the original owner seems to be a heck of a guy..
I keep my FB garaged. Why? Because mileage = Problems (and that is a guarantee with how I drive it) Winter = salt and moisture = RUST! I drive it every once in awhile, but if you drive it everyday some of the novelty wears off. And besides its worth more with low mileage! (Not that I am selling it)
If you want to drive your car everyday, thats fine. I prefer not to, I have my reasons, you may not agree with them and thats fine. But at least admit it is cool to treat an old FB like a classic. (which mine is legally a classic now)
But yeah that '83 SCREAMS 80's!!! I love it! Get it started and take it for a cruise!
EDIT:
What size are those tires?
And what is the deal with the aftermarket oil pressure gauge in the center console??
At first I thought the oil pressure gauge replaced the cigarette lighter, then I realized its still in the car they just moved it... odd...
