the motor is p-ported. Hence the 700hp NA. You wont see that kinda power with a regular port 4 rotor. I actually have a write up somewhere on the whole variable length intake system, quite a peice of work. Wish I could duplicate it

This is why it is my goal to race in the ALMS one day. The 787B is owned by Mazda I believe.

DID SOME RESEARCH WHILE I WAS AT WORK (bored at work)and i was told there is 3 that are for sale. one the original 787b owned by the mazda museum, the one that came in 3rd in 91 is for sale for $318,590 and 2 older 787b's there not the red & green but there white with blue stripes and one is owned by some guy in cali, another is at some mazda company for display but is for sale for $298,175.47 dont know how i found this but i went to google and typed mazda racing history. Pretty cool ther there is some for sale. but on the mazdaspeed webpage there were a total of 8 some were 787b's and others were from 92 787c's and some old ones (the white with blue stripes)

Do you mean the 16.4 Veyron? That's not a purebred racer anyway.. nor is the Hennessy Venom1000. The 787B most likely annihilates them as is... I don't think a car with 700 horsepower that weighs less than 2000 pounds would have so much trouble tearing apart two cars with 1000 hp that weigh 3500 (Viper) and 4100 (16.4) pounds.

That sound is beautiful, I heard it at SS7 last year and i still get chills thinking about it...wow.
I would love to know more about the variable runner lengths it uses, that car is simply amazing. It is the only japanese manufacturer to win le mans, pretty incredible if you ask me.
