700+ rwhp RB-powered FD
And that doesn't happen on the track? Like any sport its about perfection and the team or person that makes the least mistakes will win.

And i said you cant really use touge because thats not even a 1 mile course and all it takes is 1 driver error. **** a 150hp civic can probably beat that 600hp skyline with the proper suspension setup.
We're not talking about a team or person, we're discussing the capabilities of the 2 cars.

just give up dude stop making excuses
Maybe I have some experience with these engines even if I haven't been around a lot of them.
Wrong. This is a common misconception. It is merely an engine code, no super secret meaning like race-bred, race-build, race-built or anything like that. Their are RB engines from 2.0 to 3.0 liters Turbo'd and N/A. They cant all be race built now can they considering they come in 4 door n/a family cars as well.
Now dont everyone jump my **** because they see I have a swapped Rx7 in my sig. I have had numerous Rotary powered Fc's and Fd's and have had Rb powered Vehicles as well. Just trying to clear up something.

props on the RB build. Its original, it looks great, and I can guarantee it will haul *** to the umpteenth power. Granted i would take a 20B over That RB26, and any other 13B on here but it still looks great.

I don't really care to compare the two. . .I just hate it when people argue in hyperbole (i.e. - "A properly built skyline will walk around any FD, on and off the track...and when talking about a 600-700hp skyline, it doesnt match up.")
They are both great cars, they both have their strengths and their weaknesses. I won't proclaim to know it all. . .but I do know one thing. . .NObody knows it all. Stop trying to profess that either is superlative as though it is a matter of undeniable fact. That is simply not the case.

Remember the topic here is RB POWERED FD. lol
Doesnt that add another one to the list of non rotary powered FD's?? LOL
Jeez, so that leaves the world with about 8% of FD's with actual rotarys in them

GO figure that one out
Are you some of you guys kidding??

Thats a 600hp GTR which will out accelerate some of the cars you guys are thinking about.
A 2 mile run to get up to speed? lol
You must be around cars that arent properly built.
A properly built skyline will walk around any FD, on and off the track.
When talking about stock vs stock, your argument stands about FD being a true performer but when you add HP, the FD reaches a limit for driveability and when talking about a 600-700hp skyline, it doesnt match up.

.

I was told the nismo pump is actually bits and pieces from other nissan stock pumps. It does get the job done to a certain level though.
BTW. My friend just go a GTR Spec NUR edition the one with the gold motor and Nismo pump from factory, right?
I guess I missed a couple threads about the car. Yes, it's my car. A couple points about the car and my intent on building it:
* Yes, it was built for drag only.
* No, it doesn't have a stock oil pump, N1 pump, Nismo pump, Tomei pump, JUN pump, or any of the aftermarket pumps that have and do fail. It is dry sump = problem solved
* No, it hasn't made 1000hp yet. Wastegate failures only held 26PSI at the last tune. This has since be resolved and a new tune date has been set.
* Yes, it has a lot of turbo lag.
* Yes, nitrous will help that.
* Yes, it redlines at 10,000 so full boost at 6,000 isn't much of an issue anymore
* No, I didn't expect to gain popularity from doing the swap and I know some hate it
* Yes, I know I have the hood latches on backwards but:
1. it doesn't effect their function
2. they couldn't have been reversed due to where the pins are located
3. I don't give a ****

I'll try to be more active on RX7 club if there is interest in answering questions about the car.

well i am doin a 2jz swap in my fd and am doin a cobra lsd diff but was wondering how the stock lsd will hold up and its an auto diff and also do u have to do the kaaz lsd and 300m axels or can u leave it. pm me and let me know about this and how in the hell did u do the l.e.d. taillights man those are great.
the Skyline engine is really nicely built.
Back in 1988 Nissan tested a racing engine, "de-tuned" it and fitted into a chassis that became the R32 Skyline. it was the RB26DETT.
i owned a 1991 240sx with a R33 gts-t engine in it. it freakin ripped everything, the only races i ever lost was against 1000cc+ bikes. 900cc like the CBR's where behind me after we hit 280 kmh.
i dynoed at 375rwhp & 355 lbs-tq @ 18 psi. 1/4 time: 11.7@127mph
topped out at 296 km/h.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDMDAlYNmuE
...while the stock 202hp FC (with a complete straight pipe exhaust) is able to hit around 260 km/h.... its amazing how much potential those start of the 90's engine had.
Rotary FTW ,.... but damnnnnn the RB-series is amazing piece of art too !!!

IMO.... i'd buy and RB30ET (single cam turbo, used in Holden cars) machine it to allow a RB26 head and let the good times roll. which is much cheaper than buying a stroker kit for the 26
