32 Hours, 7 Minutes?

Yeah, those days are gone. The first cop you failed to stop for would get every department in that state on your ***....your little race would be over very quickly...probably less than an hour easily once you failed to stop.
That is cool as hell though...I never knew of such a thing.

Realistically i just did the math and all though its impresive its only approx. 90 MPH. I live in San Jose and I visit my mom who lives in Vegas and its approx 563 miles from my House to her house and I have made that trip in 6 hours which is approx 90 MPH twice. Average for me is a little under 8 hours. So maybe it would be possible to beat it if you took the right precautions in the right areas and floored it during the rest. Hell traffic now adays in some areas cruises at 80+. Anyone want to try and break the record with me? LOL

Closest thing you can do today is One Lap of America. I did that a few years ago, there's somewhere from almost none to very little racing on the streets, but it's run by the guy who ran the original Cannonball Run, and it is a lot of fun.

Well there are people out there with faster road trips than me but...
* Denver to San Francisco (1200 miles) in 20 hours... solo... in a Geo Metro. When I arrived my friends had all left without me because they were sure I wouldn't make it in time. }:|
* Denver to Council Bluffs and back (just east of Omaha, 1100 miles round trip) in 14 hours (in my 2nd gen), including an hour in Council Bluffs. Most of that time was on the return trip, I had to get there before 4PM... to go to traffic court. Averaged 95 mph on the way out... without getting another ticket.
* Austin to Denver (950 miles) Got from Austin to Las Vegas, NM (666 miles according to Google... spooky) in about 7 hours, then an ignitor died. (In my GSL-SE)
Did a Denver-Boston trip in that Geo too in two days, which included getting to Fort Morgan (about halfway to Nebraska), then getting a flat, having to go BACK to Denver to get a new tire, and leaving again... didn't get out of Denver the second time until almost 7 PM (go go Discount Tire - best tire shop ever, seriously) and was in Boston 36 hours later. That was probably the most grueling trip I ever took.
When I did One Lap of America I was disappointed... it was actually a really slow, easy road trip with far too much opportunity for sleep.

I was SERIOUSLY contemplating the Ultimate Rally, but a) my car wasn't going to be finished in time, and b) for some reason, that event kinda died out before it ever happened...

When I had my R1 Yamaha about 6 years ago, I was going to be late for a golf tournament and our tee time was in 20 minutes....I had almost exactly 34 miles to travel. I lived in the country, of these miles most were dead straight runs and LONG straight runs, longest straight away was roughly 15 miles without even the slightest curve in the road... I think there is maybe 5 quick little sweeping turns that I was taking at 90+mph, and the rest is just a dead straight run, 1 stop sign which I blew through and that's it, basically just a 33 mile drag strip.
I don't drive like this anymore as I lost my license back then for too many tickets and I don't condone driving like an *******, but I did it so I might as well brag about days gone by
34 miles in just under 14 minutes.... so a little over 140mph average. I can't remember if I ever brake tapped worried about a potential cop or not coming down the road because I'm sure with that machine and that road it could be done MUCH faster, so I'm sure at times I was being a wuss.
It was a good thing my buddy still had my clubs in his car, because my pickup would of never made it in time
And that is also why I got ride of my street bikes....I couldn't control myself so I decided that if they weren't in the garage, I wouldn't be tempted.

Ya I saw the trailer about 6 months back, it looked awesome.
But ya, the only way I see this doable these days is on a very very fast sport bike. Has enough manueverability to out handle a cop through traffic and outrun a helicopter/light aircraft. If you are in a car you are screwed.
What is awesome to note is that these guys averaging 90mph, meaning they most likely were going well over 100 for much of the trip when you consider gas stops, didn't get into 1 single fender bender along the way. All that 'speed endangering safety' bullshit makes me laugh.

There is a famous italian guy who rides motorcycles through Europe from point to point, shattering how fast people have done it. I am searching online to find his name. He gets arrested all the time, kinda like the guy who free climbs sky scrapers. Police HATE guys like these.

Wasn't the Ultimate Rally created by one of the Gumball guys? I can't remember his name and don't feel like looking him up.
Only ~ $15K or so and you too can be a Gumballer...if there's room.
Actually, some of those guys look like real ********, but I guess that comes with the territory. There's one guy that I talk to every now and then who's I guess an admin at the gumball forums...one of them anyway...that's run it. Nice guy from LA (the state, not Los Angles). Not saying all of them are...just some.
I had contemplated that a couple of years ago too. I suppose if you can get enough sponsors one could swing it, plus there's two of you so split whatever's left.
