staging rpm problem

i run a rtek 2.0 with 720/1000cc injectors, and i'm feeling a few hesitations between 3000-4000 rpms. i logged the problem, and i noticed that my secondary flag doesn't come on until about 200 rpms more than where i set the staging rpm. is anyone else having this problem?

There are several conditions that need to be met for the secondaries to come on. Can you upload the log?

i'll see if i can upload it later. i have the staging rpm set at 3328. with 2.5 psi of boost, the secondary flag comes on at 3500 rpms.

I have the same hesitation problems.. you have to be making positive boost for the staging to come on, even though you are above the staging point. the delay may be just the resolution of the logs

ive noticed the higher your staging point, the better. what injectors are you using, stock?

720cc densos for primaries, and 1000cc rc's as secondaries. ive been playing around with the staging rpms a bit, and it does get better if i raise the staging point. another weird problem-i did a 5th gear pull, and just above 4000 rpms, secondary flag on, around 1 psi, there are about 4 afr spikes, each one to exactly14.72. i am using an aem uego spliced into the analog input. this 14.72 spike has showed up on many of my logs. why would a somewhat fluctuating sensor repeatedly show the exact same value? would a bad electircal connection cause it to show the ideal air/fuel ratio? any help is appreciated.

good read:

https://www.rx7club.com/single-turbo-rx-7s-23/goodby-resistors-hello-peak-hold-666741/

basically if you are running low imp injectors with inline resistors on the stock ecu (or rtek), it can cause turn-on time delays, causing lean spots during staging points

Maybe the solution to the stumble is adding the ability to adjust deadtime in the rtek.

right-isn't that thread for people who know what they're talking about? my main problem is above 4000 rpms, secondaries ON. the car is an 87, so it uses low imp. injectors stock. the new ones are all low imp/peak and hold. i don't have any resistors installed.

You should be running resistors with low imp injectors.

Oh, you said you weren't running any resistors. The stock resistor blocks count as resistors.
