S5 stage 1.7 or 1.8?

I just bought another FC to go with my haltech 10thAE 400++rwhp.

I will be keeping this stock but want to turn up the boost. This car is a 1989 turbo.

I would like to turn up the boost to the maximum safe boost level the stock turbo can handle without breaking the turbo. Does anybody now what boost level that is and which version of the rtek I would need for fuel to support? Its been like 10 years since I've driven a stock turbo and can't even remember what the base boost pressure is?

If I get the 1.8 with 4 720cc injectors will this still pass emissions or is it going to idle extremely rich?

So what boost levels is each version good for?

Thanks,

The only claim we will make is a 1.7 or 1.8 with appropriate injectors, fuel pump, cat back, 12 PSI should be fine. Any other "breathing" mods and you should be watching a wideband.

The stock turbo is way out of it's efficiency zone above 12 psi.

Ok. Then 12psi will be the setpoint In the future on a turbo rebuild I may upgrade the turbo. As of now I do have the Apexi AFC and will be using that for any further fuel inrichment requirements.

So by not claiming it will pass emission I should just be able to put in my stock chip back? Or am I sending you a chip to remap therefore I loose my stock chip or am I purchasing a new chip?

With a properly tuned AFC you should not have a problem with emissions. Swapping the chip out is not really an option. While it's possible, its not something you'd want to do just to go to emissions. Its more involved than just swapping the chip.
