rtek questions about Map based timing mode

okay, i have the 1.5 version already installed. i bought an 87 tII and the previous owner had this mod done. i'm wondering 2 things.first if i switch to map mode am i then able to get rid of my maf and just run a map sensor(also what map sensor would i have to use to do this) and second, it says there is no preset timing map when i get it. am i able to just copy someone's or is mapping it out a pain in the ***.

basically i'm wondering if it would be worth the 300 dollars to uprade to stage 2 to get the map mode. or should i just upgrade to the stage 1.8 and use my MAF. or should i just get a fully programmable.

my goal is 400hp+/- 50 hp. so far the plan is to take the motor out and get street ported and the exhaust ported. not sure what injectors probably 750/1000 i have a walboro 255 i haven't picked a turbo up yet but i am in the middle of sourcing one and its gunna have a custom upper intake manifold.

also i'm wondering if i would need to even get rid of the maf to make that power but i think thats a Q for the 2nd gen tech section

As of now there is no MAF delete available at all. And to change/tune anything (timing or fuel, etc.) you will need at least 2.x.

do you think i'd be able to make my desired horespower using 2.0 (or even 1.8)? its starting to sound like upgrading my rtek isn't gunna be enough control for the setup i'm using.

You can probably do 350...but that depends on many variables.

400hp and reliability does not go hand and hand.

To reach 400hp you need HEAVY mods and full blown ECU (Haltech,Microtech)

If your looking for a cheap solution to 400hp..its not going to happen.
