Exclamation Rtek 2.0 to computer issues. Kind of urgent.

I'm having an issue connecting my "carputer" I built via null serial cable. The computer I built has a serial port so i figured i could get it to work. I am running vista OS. The palm os and rx7logger software is installed and seems functional. However, ofcourse it will not hotsync. Since it has a built in serial port, its by default "com 1" in the device manager window.

In the palm os communication port settings i have it set on:

Description-Cradle Transport-standard RS-232 Bound to - COM1

On the hotsync i have it set yo connect to Cradle/Cable.

It doesnt seem like the computer even recognizes that i plug the rtek in the serial port. Im not even sure it is supposed to.

I try to hotsync and it just says ." The connection between your handheld and the desktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again."

-Dave

I'm running out of ideas. Any help would be much appreciated. If someone on here knows how to get it to work feel free to text me and correct my ignorant self. 304-266-8360

Neverrrmind. Turns out for me to connect, I just enter the rx7logger program click tune THEN plug in the serial cord with the key on in the car and boom it works. Tried it many different ways and this is how i got it to work. ALL functions up and running !
