Rtek 1.x vs. 2.x Timing Maps

I'm currently running an Rtek 1.7 chipped N332 ECU, but will be upgrading to the 2.1 in the near future. What I'm wondering is if the "timing retard over 9psi of boost" feature of the 1.5, 1.7 & 1.8 is incorportated into the base timing maps for the 2.1.

Also, does this mean that the 1.x chips use MAP based timing rather than LOAD based? Or are the timing adjustments made at the approximate LOAD conditions where the stock turbo would be pushing over 9 psi of boost?

After the ECU calculates what it think the timing should be (its not as simple as looking it up on the map, though that is part of it), we come in and retard it based on the MAP sensor reading.. It's two separate calculations. The stock method is load based, and its the same no matter what you are running, with the exception of the 2.1 in MAP based timing mode.

You cannot effectively recreate the retard function in the 2.1 without running MAP based timing mode.

Typically it's one business day from time of receipt. Though we have a lot of orders right now where people didnt send in their ECUs yet. So in the case we get like 5 on the same day, the turnaround time may be pushed to 2 days.

Mine's one of those on your list. It's scheduled for delivery on Tues. the 19th. Too bad it has to go all the way to PA and back .
