rtek 1.7 or 2.0

okay so i've been pondering which ecu to get from them. i'm going to be running 720 or 750 secondaries and 550 primaries with a walbro pump. i'm just not sure which ecu to get though.. i like all the features of the 2.0 but don't have access to a dyno and don't want to get a wideband just yet. do you think the 1.7 will be sufficient on an 87 tII with s5 turbo and all the basic bolt ons? let me know so i can't get this puppy moving!

Do you have any plans to upgrade the turbo at a later date? If you are sticking with the stock turbo the 1.7 should be fine. Also, port your wastegate so that you dont get any boost creep.

you dont have to have a wideband to run the 2.0. all you have to do is run the 550 - 720 setting and turn the fuel up when you get above stock boost levels. maybe retard the timing 2-3 degrees also. its tricky at first to use, but when you understand it, its VERY easy to use. i cant wait till the 2.1 comes out.

the 2.0 (or the 2.1 i guess) would be the best buy in the long run. you'll get tired of the stock power and want more. then you'll have to buy a 2.0 after you bought the 1.7. just my 2c.

also, i agree with jturbo. if you just plan on staying with the stock turbo, the 1.7 will be fine. anything more (bigger turbo), your pushing the limits it was make for.
