FLOOD CLEARING S4 and S5
Ok. With a Rtek you can clear a flood by holding the pedal down to the floor and cranking. You can also do the same on a Series Five stock car.
My question is about how this is done on both series. I assume the ECU has to see rpm below 500rpm, a Start signal to the ECU and the value of the TPS.
My question is, what percent of the TPS has to be seen by the ECU? Over 50%? 80%? 90%. Talking about the RTEK for a series 4 here. Also asking what the stock series 5 looks at? The narrow band TPS or Full range TPS. And the percentage of TPS that has to be reached for the fuel cut on starting to .....cut fuel during start.
I have no problems with flooding. I just want to know for trouble shooting purposes.
And also one more thing. I'm Tired of reading about fuel Prime on a series five. To me there is no such thing as Prime on a RX-7 and would like someone to confirm this that has look at the ECU's internal workings. I'm NOT calling Prime the holding of the key to Start. There are people who say/claim putting the key to ON cause a prime for the S5. B.S.
Just asking for some technical help here on the RTEK forum.

I don't know the answwer to your first question but that would be cool if that's how the stock S5 works. I guess I'll find out when my engine is all done.
The fuel prime thing has me a bit confused. Do you mean does the fuel pump run constantly when the ignition is in the on position on a S5 NA? Yes it does. At least mine does and it's wired exactly like stock except the wiring going to the fuel pump is used to trigger an extra relay that has a better power source for the pump then the stock wiring. Is it suppose to be like that? I would think so but i don't really know either. I guess I'll find out when I finish the car and something doesn't work correctly.
