a civil discussion on pros and cons

Alrighty, here is my current situation. My turbo honda was stolen from me and now I have an rx7.
I had/have a microtech lt-8 from the accord.

Now, I am looking at $150 +shipping to send this to microtech for them to change the ignition timing to two-stroke and such and a few weeks wait time. Then I need to get a wiring harness another $100 or so, and wire it up (quoted around 300~ish, but I may just do it myself). But even if I did the $250 would be tuning costs because I don't even have the hand controller. All I have is the unit at this time, hand controller was stolen. So the $250 may just go to the controller...

But long story short, I need to put about $600 dollars into getting this microtech installed and tuned.
Is it worth it to do this over say buying rtek 2.0, palm pilot, and I could also afford a wideband this way vs having someone else tune with their wb.

I use to do c++ for palm os so I am fairly certain I could handle the interface and the more I am reading the more I feel I can tune this safely on my own. But that's another thread haha.

I will be running a universal fpr I have, walboro, 720's all around and an htrim hybrid. Hoping for mid-low 12's with some practice. I could care less about horsepower numbers so long as it drives smooth and is still a fun car.

Sooo if anyone could help me with this decision I would be most appreciative.

I like the idea of full datalogging and such right on the palm that saves me some money.
Thanks!
dave
