Will these tires pass tech inspection?

I blew my motor last summer and finally installed a new motor this week and noticed my tires are cracked all along the side walls . Is this safe ? If so will this pass tech inspection . Thanks

I wouldn't and I would be very surprised if they passed tech.

Also if the sides are that dry am sure the contact area is also. Get you some fresh ones. It's only your life!

they might overlook it, things always make it through inspection from time to time because they can't always see everything.

but as mentioned, it's only your life we're talking about...

if they were hairline cracks i would say screw it they're fine, but those look like they were 15 years old before you let them sit for a year. (pay attention to the build date of your tires, some speed shops have no principles and will sell you tires that have been sitting on the shelf for a decade. drag tires don't exactly fly through inventory most of the time, an old speed shop i used to visit had tires that hadn't moved in the 5 years i went to it.)

Thanks for the help. Those tires weren't that old but I think sitting outside all winter killed them . Guess it's time for some new ones

Nope, I would not play like that with my life. I am ordering new rubber as we speak. My drag radials are 2 years old and I am taking them off. I love living.
