FYI... I hate to say this but this is the first year in a long time that we wont be going to the pan-ams.

My middle son Joey is marrying his sweetheart this weekend. So I have to stay home.... Im kinda excited as they have been wanting to do this for a long time, and they decided on a FLASH wedding.................

Yes, I ran 35psi and the clutch started slipping. I then dialed the boost down to 25 and as soon as I shifted into 3rd on the next pass, the 3rd gear broke. Now changing the clutch and tranny and should be running at the track on Friday and on Sunday if all goes well.

It's a pull type clutch. Plus it's only the regular pos ACT anyway. I have put every size shim on that sucker and it still did not hold any decent power.

Manny you know now you just let out another secret about shimming the pressure plate. You will have some explaining to do soon.
Imagine if everyone knew that a stock pressure plate shimmed properly is almost as strong as most of the aftermarket stuff.

You are right. I had NO idea what shimming was and was not about to ask, I was waiting for someone else to ask and then Crispeed explained it! I think we need to get you guys in one room and torture you to get all the secrets out before you croak lol.

So........is there anyway to have a clutch on a stock tranny that slips a little at first and then holds the power after so there is less shock on the tranny and rear?

can't you do that yourself just by slipping the clutch on launch?

edit: I know I won't get an answer but worth a shot. Can you shim a act heavy duty pressure plate?

I quess I got a little ahead of myself. Major League won Summer Slam, not the Pan Am's. I still think the results will pretty much be about the same. Condenao Bacardi Limon, maldita sea!

I Think Major League Got Lucky At Summerslam , That Car Was,nt Running Right . In The Finals That Condogo The Blue One Thats Was Driven By Oso Is A Bad Car But On The Last Run The Left The Towel Under The Hood ,the One The Use To Covered Up The Turbo And That Mess The Turbo Up

But The Toyota Ran 7.4 All Weekend

Anyone Saw That Hyundai Ran 10.5 ,3 Times On Sunday Bad Car

That car already has "bigger" turbo... from there one can only go to biggest or ginormous.
