NC which tires do you guys recomend for an FC?

I have a FC that Dynoed 380 HP @ 14PSI. Now I'm Running 25 PSI of boost so that should put an Idea of where Im sitting at right now. I have no Idea on how much HP I'm making right now. I guess I got the engine part straight!!! now the problem that I have is that I cant get it to hook!!!! I have to take off like a granny at the strip in order to get the car to go forward!!! I realize i need tires but have been researching for a while and cant really get to a conclusion on what to get.

First I need to know what is the widest tire I can go with a 17 x 8 rim. I was looking at the M/T ET's but they Jump from 205-40-17 straight to 275-40-17. 205 is way too small for what I can see. and 275, well i really dont know if that will fit on a FC.

Second. I was looking at the Nitto Drags 555 but which has a wider variety on sizes but after reading the reviews I really dont think they are what I'm looking for.

third. I would like to keep the current wheels if possible. but Im open to constructive sugestions.

Thanks in advance.

Paul

26 x 11.5 x 16 ET Streets on 8" FD rims:

also have a set of wheels with 275's for the street, they fit with just a bat fender roll.

I wouldn't bother with a radial tire, go straight for the bias ply. You could put a 26X11.50-17 ET street on that rim, but i would recommend going with a 16" wheel and going with either a 26x10.5 or 26x11.5

Edit: I'm not 100% sure that 17" tire will fit on a 17x8" rim. You'll want to double check that. It may be a bit too narrow.

I would recommend the et street bias ply as well. Im running 26x10.5x16's on my FD with stock FD wheels(they are cheap and very light) and cutting 1.53-7 60's with 475rwhp. They are not good street tires by any means and only for the track(tried street driving them to my local track and would not recommend it). For you street wheels you might wanna pick up some nitto drag raidals, my friend has them on hs supra and loves them but dont think they will be that good at the track and may be a little harder on the drivetrain, bias plys take up the shock better but still might break due to hooking hard.

How did you get your fd rims to fit with those tires on your fc? What size spacer are you running and what suspension? I was planning on going fd rims with 26x10.5x16 but was scared to fit them on my fc without problems

thanks for all your replies, this is what I went with. I got 2 FD rims and got a pair of Mickey Thompson's ET Streets 26 x 10.50 x 16. the tires fitted perfectly very close but they fitted. thankfully i didnt go with the 11.50 because i would have needed some spacers. The track has been closed because of the weather so I havent had a chance to test them yet. will post the Improvements once i try them.

here are some pics of what it looks like.

Yeah, 25mm spacers on the back of mine, and they fit perfectly with the 11.5 ET Streets on stock suspension. I'd be worried that those will rub on the inside without the spacers.
