spring rate for better launches?

With all on my plate still trying to work the bugs out of my new motor I thought I would add more..LOl
I have a very stiff coilover setup on the car. Jic's. I need to go back and get the specs on the springs but they are VERY stiff. I was wondering about going with a softer coilover spring or should I scrap them all together and go back to strut's and eibachs? I like the idea of having height control.
So what spring rate would I be looking for and does it have to be JIC or and any coilover spring? Thanks, Mike

How much does your car weigh?

My old FD was 2300lbs, and had 500lb springs. THEY WERE WAY TOO STIFF...... I was told to use 250 pounders.

you gotta really play with the shocks, set the rears stiff and the fronts soft and go from there......... the best is to get a two way up front, something that's going to rise quick but come down slow....... you don't want that front end popping up and down....... unloading the rear
