This is exactly what I wanted the reaction to be, as most know me and ari are really good friends and we became friends from racing. The main reason for spreading this rumor is to motivate him, Never did ari say he is gonna return.
this is all me, but i think after he sees how much WE all miss him. hopefully he will find some time to start the return of the "star" car

I believe i know what may have made Ari decide to quit racing. Back when the street tire class was around and Ari was competing, there where the supra guys also and everything was going good till about 02 then the rules where changed allowing a increase in displacement but it still had to be the motor that came in the car. so obviously the 2jz could be bored and stroked but the 13b couldn't increase the displacement without going to a different motor so there was an obvious disadvantage. to make matters worse the limitations of what turbochargers could be used were changed as well. the supra guys were allowed to run larger turbochargers because they somehow convinced the rule makers that they needed bigger turbos to feed their larger motors with air. this of course just made matters worse and Ari was at such a disadvantage that competing was pointless so he left, I believe as a form of protest. which I don't blame him at all

The import scene died and Ari wanted to focus on his business. He is very busy at his shop now. The import series doesn't exactly have a payout that would even pay for your expenses to make the trip, IF YOU WIN. And to commit to a series of events would certainly take away from your business and ability to give it the attention necessary.

2. You run a clutchless. Ari runs a stock tranny.
3. You run an upgraded rear. Ari runs a stock one.
4. Ari runs a full stock interior as a street class car would.
Not even in the same convo Enzo.
Ari ran a 9.1 on a street port and C116 with an old school Greddy T88. If he ran meth with a PPort, your turbo, and your tranny, he'd be more then .5 faster.

Btw my turbo is only a 74mm. Not that much different then T88...

His car has a bone stock irs with a girdle and no ppf.
You know damn well a Semi PP will make boat loads more power then a street port on C116.
Yes the G-force gave him .02
He still went 9.3 on a bone stock tranny. Nobody in a FD has come close and its been almost 10 years. Im not saying what you've done aint great, but Ari paved the road. Plain and simple.

Just in the US alone you had guys like Adam S, PFS, Ray Lockheed, Abel Ibarra, and many others im leaving out im sure... I would call these guys the innovators not Ari....

Enzo please don't think i'm trying to get on this obvious growing argument because I want nothing to do with that stuff. but I was curious about your opinion that you gave saying that you race just because it is fun and that stuff. While I agree with you ( to an extent) it has always been my focus to do the best you can and above all just have a good time. with so many swaps popping up these days and with RP staying to the rotary and being one of our fastest street tire class OG's out there It may hurt business If he wasn't close to being top dog. especially with so many other swaps these days. the other reason I think Ari may not be racing anymore could be because he and Chris are busy as hell. keeping a race car active and making it to the events can take a ton of time and money (as I'm sure you know) All of this travel time and money could hurt the company as well. just a thought

When i met Ari the first times,he would drive his FD from TEXAS! all night long to show up to the big race will race all weekend long run Low 10s and be gone by the end of the weekend.That was an incredible well build car.
All that time till he started to trailer the car he would run the same engine combo with a larger T88 turbo.I did get to see him run the G force a few times but the rules agains him changing tranny will not let him run in other categories so he would be running the modified class instead of the street class.He did run low nines with the G force but only to go back to the stock trans.
I can back up the tranny theory.......one time he ran his car in pomona a few years back and he broke his stock tranny.He never had any spears with him so he went to my house and lend him a stock dirty FD tranny ,took it to the track put it on all night long and then he would run 9.4- 9.5 all weekend not pushing to keep it safe, but everyone was saying the same thing that weekend that he had a cheater tranny but no way he had always ran a stock FD trans.
I think Ari Rx7 is really a true street Rx7 he would take it to the streets and drive around town,as a matter a fact he would tune the Rx7 in the freeway to check his tune prior to race.
There was also a team mate car Ari build for Karl martin....this Rx7 ran mid 9s also in street trim......this guy was always fast at the track and was running the same stock trim chassis like Ari.

Seriously ??? don't your bro got 700+ hp it takes alot more than hp to play w/ ari's 9.27 stock tranny number, I for one gave up along time ago. not saying it's impossible cuz ari proved it more than once, but I think credit needs to be given where credit is due........ How bout you shut me up and have your bro run better than 9.27 PERIOD!!!!! don't get me wrong I love your setup and i give you much props on your setup, but your setup is not even close to mine, ernie, ari's, anthonys,(nyc) adam s etc............. your brothers on the otherhand is !!!!!

Nobody is taking anything away from Ari. What he did was impressive.
No need for you to get all hostile...
My brothers car runs at the track with 650hp and a junkyard engine.
He hasn't dialed that car in yet and as soon as we do it'll run a good number...
A new engine will help as well.. a 9.27 is not an impossible goal... And as far as spending,
that car was put together with as little money as possible..
I'll promise you I'll personally make sure that 9.27 get's broken by my brothers car next year?
My setup is not all that different as I was trying to explain to Ernie T earlier..
Lets see besides my tranny my setup is the same as my brothers car, SpeedNyc's Car, Anthony NYC cars (he currently has a bit smaller turbo and hasn't done the intake but will soon)
Those are all street cars.. They all run the same "Enzo Racing" turbo kit... Cheap plug I know But seriously anyone of those cars can easily transform into my car with a fuel change and transmission. Nothing radical at all...
At the End of the day what Ari did was impressive and I hope he does read this and gets motivated again. It would be cool to see him back out there. It would be even cooler to be lined up together..

At the end of the day I race my car for fun... Yes I want to be the fastest (we all do), yes I would love to make a ton of money doing this, But reality is there will always be someone faster, and this is more for the love of the sport then the money.. The amount of time/money this freaking sport takes up is so brutal that most people end up broke, divorced, out of business, losing their homes, etc, etc.. I've seen it all...
Luckily there's alot of racing somewhat close by that I could pick and choose which races I can afford to attend and go out there and have fun.. Hanging out with friends, bbq, drinks, a little **** talking, dinner, it's all fun, and it's the reason we go racing...
BTW this is not a growing argument!! At least not for me anyway.. It's friendly **** talk.
It's good rivalry that makes for good racing and hopefully gets more people to the track...

Hello everyone...
It's been a long time since I've logged on here... I really miss all the warmth, support and encouragement that we offer each other. There is only a small community of dedicated rotary guys still left out there, it's really good to see how we stick together as rotary powered drag racers.
I suspect that some of the guys on here are barely hanging in there. All it's going to take is another popped seal, broken diff or anther blown tranny and the car goes up for sale. Another rotary enthusiast lost to the Evo, Sti, LS1 or whatever other car. We need to recognize that we belong to a dying breed. The rotary is delicate, uses expensive parts ,gets terrible fuel economy, doesn't make big power and puts out lots of nasty emissions. For some reason we stick with it and won't let go. I don't know if we're stubborn, dumb or something is just a little different with us...
Instead of trying to push each other down, we may do better if we look to help each other. I believe that the competition shouldn't within our own camp but on the track against the Mitsus, Subarus, Toyotas and whoever else. If we don't help each other we'll have a real hard time getting past them.
This is already getting really long... I'll send another post in a few minutes with some cars details. It should hopefully answer some questions.
