Press Release - O.G.S. Announces Addition of PRO RWD Class to 2012 Event Schedule....

New York, NY (FPRC) February 6th, 2012

8:00 A.M.

Ortega Global Solutions is happy to announce the creation of a new heads up class for the 2012 season: Pro RWD. This class will feature the quickest and fastest full tube and 3/4 chassis rear wheel drive sport compact cars, commonly seen in the Quick 32 Class, racing in a heads up format. The class will be contested at 3 events this season on the Old Bridge Township Raceway Park schedule:

16th Annual Sport Compact Spring Nationals(Etown) 4/28-29/2012

17th Annual Import/Lowrider Summer Slam(Etown) 6/30-7/1/2012

15th Annual Sport Compact Fall National(Etown) 10/6-7/2012

Pro RWD rules

-Open to all RWD 3/4 and full chassis sport compact vehicles

-Open to all 4 and 6 cylinder and rotary powerplants

-Heads up, pro tree. Pro ladder

-Maximum dislacement:

6 cylinder: 4.0L

-Maximum two power adders allowed

-Minimum weights:

4 cylinder/2 rotor: 2000 lbs (over 3.0 liter add 200 lbs)

3 rotor: 2200 lbs

6 cyl: 2400 lbs

*3/4 chassis- deduct 100 lbs

*3/4 chassis must retain original firewall, OEM front shock towers and framerails in front of the firewall. Front Struts must mount to as-built upper OEM location. Final strut installation must be in a manner such that removing the bolts on top of the strut tower allows strut assembly removal to be considered a 3/4 chassis.

ENGINE CONTAINMENT DEVICE GUIDELINES:

Engine diaper or catch pan device to capture oil and/or debris in the event of engine and/or transmission failure mandatory. Where exhaust header passes directly under oil pan, a two piece diaper may be utilized. If a catch pan device is used, catch pan must employ minimum 2 inch high lips on all sides. Lips must be covered or curved inward, so as to contain oil in pan. Catch pan must cover entire area below the engine/transmission. Catch pan must extend from radiator support to firewall and from frame rail to frame rail. In all cases, lips must be adequate enough to contain oil in the catch pan. Should a competitor spill excessive oil from the catch pan and debris onto the track, he or she may be disqualified from further competition at the sole and absolute discretion of the event director until the catch pan is upgraded, regardless of the height of pan lips or pan design.

*Please keep in mind that this class is an addition to the current classes which are run at various O.G.S. events. The O.G.S. staff will be keeping the current Quick 32 class which has been a success for years.

The PRO RWD class will require competitors to qualify on Saturday. We will attempt to provide our competitors with 3 qualifying rounds on Saturday depending on weather, oil downs and other unforeseeable circumstances which are outside of our control. However, the competitors that opt to race the PRO RWD class must understand that if they do not get into the qualifying field, they will not be able to race again during the remainder of the event weekend.
