Ordered my new tranny!
Decided not to deal with swapping tranny's every other week so I broke down today and purchased the PPG dog box gear set. It supposed to be stronger than the Guru gear set, plus a dealer is right in my state of Maryland so the tech support is there to back it up. Everything is replaced. Stuff looks like its from a tank! Just one less thing I have to worry about breaking. Another plus is it fits in the stock casing so its legal for all sanctioning bodies (street class)
Here is the link for those of you that want to check it out.

It'll be here next week.

Good luck Ernie. I hope it work out for you. The only thing I'm worried about would be the main shaft.
What gear ratios are available? Can't seem to find it on their website.

It is clutch assisted, but I was told you didn't "have" to use it. You do need to use the clutch for downshifting though. I found out about it from my friend that uses it in his 800rwhp Skyline. They were also at the last MIR race at a display booth. I was very impressed with the quality. Also, supposedly the PPG gears are stronger than the Guru. We'll see! lol....

I just recieved the mainshaft for the earlier year, and put it side by side with the latter, which is what I have been breaking so much lately. The 93-94 mainshaft is .012" thicker near the splines, right where it snaps!! It may not be the difference, but I'm going to do some testing this weekend.

Not, yet, The damn thing is stuck in customs in California. They act like its a damn bomb or something. I'd love to make the NHRA race at Englishtown Oct.1, but who knows.
