Talking NHRA tech issues more 2006 rulebook revisions

I can't believe it NHRA actually dropped the minimum weight for a Mazda Rotary All Motor RWD from 1950 pounds to 1875 pounds. Hopefully the weight change will help out the All Motor Rotary Powered cars towards the end of the Season. I would really like to see Padilla come out to Pomona California again.

NHRA is finally realizing that the ROTARY cars bring out the real excitement to the tracks.
At least here in the east coast.
Rotary Fans here in the east coast "Boriquas” are die-hard fans that will attend any event, 100 degree weather no problem!!!!!
All the other classes are "here today gone tomorrow fans".

Although the weight is an issue with All motor mazda the bigger issue is the sponsership cash/expenses.

Talking Bring back FWD VS. RWD Rivalry in Drag Racing

Way back in the day when the first "Battle of the Imports" begain it was Mazda, Datsun, Toyota and a couple of Honda's competing for local bragging rights. Then there was the big rivalry between FWD VS. RWD cars that I thought was really exciting to watch. Over the past 10 years many of the FWD Competitors stepped up thier game and can compete equally at the RWD car level without the weight breaks. The 60' times are as good or if not better on some of the purpose built FWD Drag cars today.

Finally!!!!!!

That 75lb weight reduction will help an 'All Motor' car a lot.
It's about time the NHRA stepped up and did something for the 'All Motor' 2-rotor cars.
