Thanks guys..
Its amazing how this car feels. Dropping 350lbs, new front tires have less rolling resistance and no rear wing. Its crazy.
The motor is not having to push as much power now. Betting around 60 to 75 hp if not more. and shifting at a lower RPM
Old car. over 9000rpms shift point and AFR at 12.
Now shifting under 8800rpms and AFR below 11. 4th gear AFR is 10.6. Was doing 35mph from 8th to the end. Now 29mph. Big difference.
You can see how soon it shifts to 4th gear.(video) Almost a second before the 8th. 4th gear starts at low 7000 rpm.

Hey Chuck,

Are you full time in San Antonio these days? I've been following your building/racing for a while and never realized you were just up the road from Houston

Would love to see some pics of this thing's power plant with that S480 strapped to it.

Went to Ennis IFO yesterday. Good day! Ran 8.95 at 154.9 with a 1.44 60ft. This is with a 28x10.5 tire. Cant get the thing to 60ft like the 27x10 did. 1.31. The 28s are spinning to much off the line but allow the first 3 gears to go further down the track. IF this thing can 60ft, car has the potential to go 8.7#

Yep hitting the 8.9 at a IFO event with a big crowd was great! Cant get over how the car is running. Forgot the laptop for the event and ran two passes with out breaking out a laptop to check things out. Kinda scary but neat at the same time. Its amazing how much power a street port will produce with stock turboII ignitors and coils. Do have some 35$ voltage stabilizers for the leading coils to maintain 15 volts. NO ignition issues. Cant wait to figure out the launch issues and put some boost back in it....

Thanks guys!

1.29 60ft

Finally broke into the 1.2 60 foot times. Had to go back to the 27x10 M and a H. The 28x10.5 were just to big for the car. had to raise the rear of the car so the tire would not rub the fenders. So the rear was to high and not allowing the power to transfer to the rear wheels.

Also the motor started pushing oil the last several outings. took the motor apart and found the front plate has cracked. and one flat corner seal spring.

Crank case to the oil catch can. Boost pressure was getting into the oil pan area and puking oil in the catch can. Almost half a quart on the first pass. Then the next two passes it would push another half quart for both passes.

Long story
Got another motor installed Friday and started on Saturday. Found out the leading front rotor had no spark. So moved the trailing front plug wire to the leading front spark plug. Zeroed the trailing spark map. Disconnected the trailing rear coil so now motor is running on leading spark only. Used stock 9s spark plug to get the new motor up and running. Everything seems good now. GO racing Sunday. First qualifying pass did 9.1 at 151 Way cool! and that was on stock 9s plugs, forgot the put in the race plugs. And leading spark only. But car ran smooth with no issues.
Second qualifying pass was the wheel stand pass
First eliminating pass the trans did not go into 4th gear on the first attempt. 9.2 at 140
Quarter finales again trans acts up. Found that all the bolts that secure the bell housing to the trans came loose or off. Bolts punched holes in the bell housing from the flywheel. Also one of the bolts that got smashed around by the flywheel also hurt the rear plate... My day was over!

Bell housing

What's your guys opinion about putting a flat washer between the lock washer and surface part? Don't know why I did this since it's not a common practice for me. Bolt were in for a year with maybe 150 passes.
Usually use just a lock washer OR flat washer.

Next pass more power was add and another wheels up launch.
Broke the motor bad. Not sure why yet.

The time slip shows it slowed down a bit. Tried some new spark plug wires and had mis fire in 4th gear. Reason the mph was down 20.
27 psi no clutch wot, launch rpm was 8750 at 22psi. with a .017 jet in the clutch flow control valve. Still single disc so power should be around 350whp. lol
