To much tire?

S5 Turbo II with stock tranny, diff, axles, ect. I'm making around 240-250 WHP on the stock Turbo, motor, ECU, ect... My goal is to run a 12.9 or better with no "real" upgrades. So i got these big sticky tires. But I'm thinking this might be to much tire for the power I'm making and actually hurt my time, or even the car.

Tires in question are a set of 275/60/15 MT ET Drag Radials on a set of 15x8 Weld Pro Star wheels.

I also have a set of Moroso DS-2 up front 24" tall 5" wide on a set of 15" Weld Pro Stars. Do the tire heights on the front runners effect E.T. at all. Width, brand, height?

I did a bunch of searching and it seems that a shorter 26" tall tire is more common on FC's. Is that just a fitment reason, or is it just a waste to run a 28" tall tire as I am running?

FDs run 25 inch overall diameter the majority of the time. Anything approaching 26 inches is the limit.

The taller your overall rolling diameter, the more you numerically extend your gearing. It slows the car down, hurts acceleration. I think running 28 inch overall diameter tires is completely retarded, to be blunt

I got the tires with the wheels. I was looking for a set of Weld pro stars and these were a GREAT deal from someone local. I figure, the MT ET Streets are still in pretty damn good condition, why not run'em until I need a new set, then get a set of 26" slicks.

The main thing is, will these tires bog my car out off the line, even if i drop it at 6k?

its gonna bog more than a tyre closer to standard will, but youll just need to give it more revs, but then lies a problem of doing damage to your axles or clutch,

I left a reply two days ago but its not posted hmmm, my internet is being dodgey anyway .

Also i was wondering if the tyres would even fit, as i had 274/40r17 mt street radials under my fc before and they barely fit, so i think your 275/60r15 will hit the guards , the 235/60r15 is a better fit for a fc and even then its taller than a stock tyre diameter ,
Id first try your tyres on the car as i don't think they will fit, unless you jack it up alot

Sold the 28's... I'm gonna pick up a set of 26" tall tires. Just not worth it in broken parts and the frustration of crappy 60' times...
