Msd digital 6 Plus for 2 step
Looking to get my car setup for building boost off 2 step launch. Ive seen threads of using crane hi-6 and msd 6al. What are some proven setups so i dont waste my money on wrong setup. This is an FD, power fc, B&m ignition amplifier, stock coils. I have a line lock also thats not installed yet. Plan on buying the tilton flow control valve. Ive seen someone selling an msd digital 6 plus for cheap so thats why im asking if anyone using that and what else would i need. Thanks

As far as using an MSD box, assuming you plan to use the non-digital version of the 6AL, once installed, just wire the 2-step input from the MSD box to your linelock switch. The other way is the way I did it - wire in a clutch switch (something like what you'd have for disallowing starting w/o holding the clutch in), and wire that to a toggle switch, then to the MSD box. This way, you can do what's called "flat-shifting" - aka keep your foot to the floor on the gas while shifting. When you're building boost on the line, you're going to have your clutch in anyhow, so that 1 function does both parts of a 2-step.
No experience with the Crane boxes, so I can't comment on that.
EDIT:
FAIL on me for not reading that topic title clearly... In that case - the digital version has no built-in 2-step, so it's not going to do much without a 2-step controller (i.e. wotbox, 2-step mode on an EMS, etc.)

you sure the digital 6 plus has no built in 2 step cause what ive read in the instruction manual of it, it does. It doesnt need pills and can be adjusted from the dials on the side

Yes the digital 6 + (NOT an MSD-6Al digital) has a built-in 2-step, you just need another relay to de-activate the trailing coils. If you follow my diagram: from the thread https://www.rx7club.com/rotary-drag-racing-167/how-wire-line-lock-2-step-899896/, but instead of going to the MSD 2-step module, you just feed the 12v to the proper input wire on the Digi 6.
I also have 2x digital 6's for sale... *shameless plug*
