I do know why, but I wanted to hear what sort of BS rumors were out there.. There's absolutely nothing to be scared about with those cars. I knew the alleged owner and what he or anyone else do outside the track is his problem. For those that don't know, let me be the first to tell you. This stuff is all public knowledge and their are countless articles in the PR newspaper & TV about this case, so I'm not sure why people think it's top secret.

Back in '08 the red starlet & this car were pulled over in a "routine" traffic stop. The truck didn't have proper documentation so it was impounded. Angel Ayala, the driver of the red starlet & alleged owner of both cars was an apparent DEA target. The Feds later arrested Ayala and sized his property (other cars etc) then he sat in prison awaiting his charges. Last October he got life in prison and his property has been auctioned off. Both cars are out and will probably never be seen again. He loved the red starlet like a child, so having someone else buy it wasn't an option. If I wanted to bid on both cars, I could of. No one is scared to show up at the auction. Puerto Rico is not some sort of "scarface" type island where everyone is walking around with a gun ready to kill you. The fact is, the car would stay in his family/friends forever and they were willing to do so at whatever cost, even if it meant outbidding everyone else.

Puerto Rico is not a place that's filled with murderers and drug dealers, unlike what most people herd. I have friends in Australia that's scared to visit PR because they herd of this guy and that guy. Let me tell you, it's all BS! There's nothing to be afraid of and EVERYONE will welcome you with open arms. Obviously you not going to drive into the projects in Bayamon or anyone of those crime ridden places, so once you use common sense, you'll be fine. These alleged drug dealers are quite normal at the track or at their home. No one acts like a Don or like Tony Montana. Everyone is down to earth and there's a good chance they will be more excited to talk to you, then you to them.

So there you have it.. The truth without all the bochinche or rumors. To the point!

I'm guessing you're referring to "Anais"... Do you honestly think a guy will lose his life because he refused to sell his car? There are people in PR with more money that the government of PR, so killing a guy because he refuses to sell his car is absurd. There's always 3 sides to a story

I hear you Aaron, but lets not be too naive. Just like down here in LA or many other cities in California, there are good places and there are places that the you don't go too. It's the same everwhere else.

On my honeymoon I went on a cruise ship to the bahamas. We stopped at Puerto Rico and my wife and I had an awesome horseback ride through a jungle. On the bus ride there the commentator was telling about different places as we passed them. There was one city/provinence, I forget where, but they said not even the police will go in there. But like you said, if you stick with a group of people and stay in the right areas, you'll be fine.

Dude, I LOVE PR!! I visit PR more than I do my own island.. My wife and I love it so much, I'm thinking about buying property there in a few years. You get an entirely different perspective on people when you interact with them face to face.. I was also scared about PR and it's people but now I know the stories firsthand & developed a somewhat personal relationship with those guys that there's absolutely nothing to be scared off. No one brings their private life on the racetrack

It's the same with Australia.. there are so many rumors of different shops etc, but when you speak to the hardcore guys that's directly involved with the sport, you soon realize that it's all BS rumors

I love my island and like everywhere good and bad. The majority of the murders are drug related, and like it was mentioned before stay out of the areas you shouldn't be in and you should be ok. I have also seen a car owner arrive to salinas speedway in a rented Care-Flite helicopter with his bodyguards so not all car owners might be all that innocent and this is not bochinche. I saw this with my own eyes. My parents live 25 mins away from Salinas, I was there the very first day they opened that track.

Im another Rican I grew up In the suburbs of Chicago and worked in Fullerton and Guys with money( drug dealers, gang members ,pimp ) what ever the case was, they were very nice to us cuz we talk the same language (CARS) when it has to do with cars their a totally different people they even will jump your car with their pimped out bad *** car,as happen to me, you help them they help you plain and simple and any where in the world when it has to do with FIEBRE aka umm car fever is a love and a passion so we all respect that and I think we all share that inside, I been to Puerto Rico and only been to ANASCO motorsport and guys their are very cool. Like everyone knows depends where you stick your head in. If you step your foot in my yard looking at my rusty RX3 ofcourse we get our guard up. Same goes when you step in their hood they dont know you they will propect their homes.
