launch, flywheel help

Ok, so here's the deal, I feel ashamed for asking this first of all.

My buddy has a new edge GT mustang (02 or 03 I think) and the first time I raced him I spun all the way through first gear. He won by maybe a car length, but I was pulling hard on him. Later that night I noticed my clutch started slipping. So I called it quits for a while on the racing.

Ordered my new clutch, got the tranny apart, and noticed it wasn't the clutch that had a problem, it was the flywheel. So I ordered a fidanza 8.5 lb flywheel, and I figured while I had it up I would get a drop too so I got tokiko shocks and H&R sport springs (they were for sale on here.)

Got everything on, and finally got through the break in period this week (took forever it seems even tho it was only like three weeks, maybe)
So I took it out tonight and decided I wanted to do some races. Raced my buddy in his mustang again, he beat me by a solid 3-4 cars. I know I need new tires, but it shouldn't've been that bad. So I said, what the hell, I wanna pick on the kid with the RSX type S with intake and exhaust, yeah well, I beat him off the line (I was shocked), but as soon as v-tec kicked in, he started to pull on me, and by the time it was over, he won by maybe a bumper!

Now I know the FD isn't a ******* high 14 second car! WHAT COULD MY PROBLEM BE?! I don't have a boost leak(the boost gauge reads a solid 10-8-10) my compression is 105lbs on all faces on the front, and 100 lbs all on the back.
Is it just I need new tires?! Cuz I'm getting those with my next paycheck (in 2 weeks) or should I not have gotten the 8.5lb flywheel for drag racing? I know it makes it that much harder to launch, and that much easier to spin the tires, but GRR!!!

Sorry, I'm in a really bad mood as I write this cuz it's just pissing me off.

Mods: 99 spec turbos, Greddy intake, Tokiko Illumina shocks, H&R sports, ACT stage 2 clutch, Fidanza 8.5 lb aluminum flywheel, custom 3" exhaust

the bad: no pfc/boost controller, pretty sure I have leaky primary injectors

I don't primarily use the car for drag, more for autox, but most people around here only drag and there aren't very many autox events so i drag

Well, the 8.5lb flywheel is not recommended in drag racing. Most guys use the stock flywheel for drag racing to have the extra inertia for the launch. If you were going to do both autox and drag, you should have gotten the lightened steel flywheel. But besides that it sounds like something else is wrong. You should be able spank both of those cars stock. How does your engine run when racing? Is it pulling hard or does it hesitate or missfire, etc? Sounds to me like you have an engine running problem, whether it be fuel, spark, air, or boost, etc. Might want to take it to a pro or someone who knows what they are doing and have it checked out. Or you may be just a shitty driver.

hmm... it pulls hard all, but i'm pretty sure it's running rich due to leaky injectors, my buddie's mustang is a factory freak, long story, but he's beat a good number of cars he shouldn't have.
my boost is fine, but i'll check the plugs, and I know I need to change the injectors, but i'll see about taking it to a pro, thanks for the info.
