I've seen a lot of the cars running a mechanical fuel pump do that, I think it's normal.

Good for him, I'm glad he's coming back out with the car.

I thought he was breaking a lot of motors during the last full season. Doesn't seem like a leaking wastegate could be the cause . . . In any event, the car looks and sounds great. Can't wait to see how he does.

Yeah, I saw that too. I'm used to seein that on blowers, didnt know the EFI cars had to have that done though.

Well blower cars are different. They spray deicer not either on the butterflys. They do that to keep them from freezing shut before the pass. They also give it a shot of gasoline before starting it because cold engines don't really run well on methanol. The neatest setup is the n/a nitro cars that run in top alcohol, they have a container of gasoline with a quick disconnect that sits on top of the injector hat. They start the car and warm it slightly before switching to nitro.
