any chance i could get a few simple round ups of what the records are.
1 for fc with factory irs (completely factory)
2 for fc with upgraded irs including 8.8 or 9 inch or billet shafts an joints
3 fd rear end records, whats out there as im curious to see.

Im not fussed if its a modded box or auto or clutchless but if you know the answers it would be nice to know.

Ive asked on my australian forum for local times but id also like to know what the world times are , ive been asked a few times about the stats but im never sure whos got what an where an when it was done

Im aware of timemachines time in upgrade class , but im not sure who exactly has the factory irs as the canadian fella claimed it but has been told its not his in another thread.
And i have no idea on fd times at all

FD IRS is prob Ari with a 9.1 or something like that. Oh wait Adam S went 8s I believe with IRS.

 

**** me im forgetful, ive got a old tape of adam back in the day telling us about his time with the irs fd, ill see if i can dig it up to see what time it was , unless someone can chime in .

I had a few guys talk to me at the track today and were asking about what has been done in the world and aust of the fd an fc irs records , i couldnt remember exactly what they were so im sort of leaving a thread here for reference

Edit i have found adams time, it is 8.90 @149 with g force box in year 2000

 

The FD IRS record still belongs to the Blitz Scorch FD with an 8.89
Time machines hold the FC IRS record and the all round Rotary IRS record

 

ive had a update on the fd irs time, archie from mazfix has done a 8.8.......@159 in the black fd , will update the exact times when i know it

 

what is saruwatari doing this days? still working on the farm?

so the fd irs record is re written, Archie of mazfix in australia has done a 8.81@159mph, so blitz and adam have been blitzed .
Id like anyone else to give us heads up on whats the go in fd or fc times if anything else is found

 

well we actually went 8.74 n 9.02 when we had the factory rear end

And your 9.02 was that completely stock rear end, no axle or cv upgrades , as thats what im meaning on stock az bru section .

Thanks heaps again fellas, id just like to get some clear cut ideas on what the few different combos have been, as it seems a few different people have different ideas on what's been done, but like adam S doing his time way back in 2000 it could mean there is others out there that have done something btu never thought about it.

 

i got u my friend, the 9.02 we had the axle bar upgrade, well sinceadam there hasnt been much diference in times on the irs lol that car was our inspiration to keep the irs

Ari is Ari Yallon from RX7.com. He drives the FD with the stars/ stripes paint job. Great guy.

FC or FD, I'm pretty sure 9.27 is the number to beat still on all-factory driveline.

Im from a skating surfing background and i still surf regularly now, as it was this arvo i had to remove my board off the back window of my mazda so i can tow it to my workshop , so im used to hearing guys talk like that down my way , so im definitely not being offensive, it just strikes a funny curve with me every time i listen to that youtube vid

Also fd an fc rear ends are quite different in size and shape and manufacture , i myself personally categorise them differently

 

All factory driveline ? This phrase bothers me. To me stock is stock when its untouched.

Ari's car had a Kaaz LSD either 4.30s maybe even 4.56's. He also had his special RP custom axles which therefore are not considered stock anymore. He also modified his tranny and removed syncros or whatever else he did since its a secret apparently. RP drag launch kit etc im sure the list goes on. To me thats not a factory drivetrain anymore.


on a side note.. according to rx7.com Ari's best on ET Streets was 10.01 ? Did he ever beat that time ?

100% stock.. Went 10.6 on a untouched set up all the way to OEM fluid. I am sure someone has got to have a better time but just dont think anyone cares about 100% stock times as the fast cars are what matters and none is doing it on **** parts. Atleast have axles-lsd upgrade...

 

See I didn't know that. There's always a lot of hear-say, so I'm glad you cleared that up. I just hope that some day my FC can be as fast as cars like his and yours.
