Engine damage on the 2 step?

Has anyone ever damaged their engine on the 2 step? In theory it shouldn't happen but I can't help wondering since it is typically such a violent event.

Is it possible that some engines are damaged during the 2 step then fail prematurely during the run down the 1/4.

What I'm really interested in, is has anyone ever logged engine knock readings whilst on the 2 step? Surely it must be getting up towards towards detonation?

I haven't had any damage from it. I also don't stay on it for more than a second or two. Logs show normal-low knock readings, not high. I add extra fuel in my map where the 2 step is and reduce timing.
