Drag Tire Size...Need Help

Hey guys I'm looking for some input into tire size,Ive got an fc TII and Im wondering what would be the best tire size for 1/4 mile. Its running low 13's on street tires,255 45 zr17,but I find it a bit slugish with 275 45's.Also are et streets my best bet. Thanks for any help.Chad

Chad, Taylor here. I've got some 26x11.5x16 ET streets on FD rims w/ spacers for my FC that won't be seeing the track this year, you can try them and see how you like them. But, you'll need your fenders rolled for them to fit... let me know when you wanna go this summer.

If you don't want to roll the fenders as much, 26x10.5 ET streets would be the ticket. If it's bogging on launch, you can just up the tire pressure until you get some slip

Hey Taylor,Thanks for the offer, but I was thinking about possibly a smaller and lighter tire,as Im not making huge power. I was thinking somewhere around 225/50/16 in a et or bias slick,Id save a few pounds at each wheel and still have more than enough traction to stick.Let me know whta you think.Thanx Chad

I know a Mickey Thompson 26x10 definitely fits. U will need to roll the lip of the quarter panel.

So 9.5 should fit without rolling anything.

26x11.5x16 ET streets fits in a FC wheel well. You just have to roll a little more, but they are only ~10" in actual tread width. It's all going to depend on wheel offset too...

Chad, I think you just need a bigger turbo! I've never tried them, but you might be better off with some drag radials, they will still cut your time down, and you don't have to change your front tires or anything.

Hey Taylor,I agree I do need a bigger turbo...but what do you think of my theory of jamming a smaller tire to give me a bit more off the line,as I don't really need 10" of tire sticking me down?It seems to take alot more torque to get a taller tire moving?make sense?Thanx Chad
