Drag Racing specific Roll Cage

Does anyone know the most important aspects of a roll cage specifically for drag racing?
Are they purely designed for safety, or can good gains be made by stiffining the shell?

The most important aspect of the cage is safety. Chassis benefits are a distant second

I had a four point custom made and its welded on, not just bolted down. It did stiffen the car and it ultra responsive now. I had no idea the rear end had so much flex
