2-step, shutting the car off after I use it...?

I have the activation button for it on the steering wheel. So i had the car idling and pressed it, it then turned off all 3 places I was watching my RPM. SAFC NEO, digital RPM gauge, and stock gauge. Which I figured would happened because I am turning off the trailing coil, which gives the RPM signal to all of those?

So where can I wire a RPM gauge so this dosnt happen?

I turned down the adjust-a-chip pill to about 3k RPM and tried it out to be safe before I go to a higher RPM, It sounds like it worked to me. But couldnt really tell since I had no way to read my RPM. But sure sounded like a 2 step at a little over 3k rpm.

But the real problem is, when I release the button the car shuts off. But then i can restart it no problem... When i restart the gauges are all working again like nothing happened.

This is what I used to wire it up...

No, i was at regular idle when i release the button.

I pressed the button, throttled it for a few seconds. then release and went back to regular idle. then released the button. then the car shuts off.

I rechecked the wires, everything seems fine... but obviously something is wrong.

im not sure if anything is wrong, as it may just be fuelling up when depressed, and since your letting it go at idle its gonna freak out and stall, try it with your foot held flat and release the button like you would at the track, it should rev upwards when released , if so i wouldn't be so worried about it stalling like it is now

What kind of engine management are you using? I have the 2 step in my car wired the same way and it kinda did the same thing, but it would do it when I activated the 2 step the car would shut off. I found out something happen w/ my Haltech and just a simple upload of the same map fixed it.

I hear the relays click when I press the button on the steering wheel. The 2-step and relays are mounted in the glove box for easy adjustment of the adjust-a-chip pills.

I'm going to re-trace all my wiring again just to make sure... Kinda annoying. I have my Pro-stars with slicks mounted finally and I'm ready to run it, but the damn 2-step wants to be a dick...

Did some playing around. I noticed that if i remove the pill in "module 2" spot (which is for the 2 step right?) I can press my button, and release it, and the car will stay running. But when i plug the pill back into the 2-step, the car shuts off. It also idles a slight bit lower with the pill in, and raises the idle up when i press the button with the pill in. But without the pill idle does not change when pressing or releasing the button.

I can also hear the relays click once when i press the button, then again when i release it.... So I'm pretty sure everything is wired up correctly. Maybe the pill is bad?

fixed it!!!

The adjust-a-chips from Shifnoid were set wrong. I tried to test them before i installed them, but my multimeter was giving me bad readings. You set them by having them set to a certain ohm/resistance. So i figured they were OK since they just came out of the package new. So i got a new multimeter, and they were far off. Then I set them correctly and tested the 2 -step. Works beautifully. Sounds sick!

Can't wait to test out the MT slicks with the 2-step!
