LUPE 06-11-06 07:52 PM

No doubt, I'd like to know the air conditions there today. Looks like it sucked.

Looked like Schechter was having some problems, I wonder what they were.

RX794 06-12-06 12:44 AM

That's great news, it'll give Dee more of a points cushion between him and Justin. Congrats to Dee, Russ, and the rest of the Reactive/PCS team!

silvr94r2 06-12-06 03:12 AM

Congrats Dee!!! Glad to see you beat Paul!!

Congrats to Dee and the Reactive Team!

You did say you had a good feeling about the event, glad it turned out the way it did. You guys deserve it for all your hard work and dedication.

I was there for that race it was a good one so close i could barely watch Dan with the jigsaw RX-7 came down as well put on a great show made to finals and broke at the line he did beat the number one qualifying supra though karl martin came through as well and won the quick 16 class it was a good day for the rotary Dan was the only one i really got a chance to talk to which i was pretty excited about because it was his car in the sport compact mag that brought me into the rotary world it was a good day

Why wasn't Karl competing? What times was he running?

What happened to Dan? Why did he break?

Nuvolari 06-12-06 03:01 PM

Congrats Dee, thats about as fast as a two rotor can go. I wonder if he will go three rotor next season ??

Dee has been 7.60 many times before and the other rx7 in the class from PR, 'PICA RACING' driven by George Lazcano who has the class record at 7.49@181mph was not competing this weekend. That same car has ran as quick as 7.40 and as fast as 185mph in PR.
The main reason why everyone's performance were off this weekend was due to the altitude. The cars in the 'ALL MOTOR' class suffered the worst. Their times were off by over a second.

He did compete and made it to the finals. He took out Ryan Woon in the semi's before facing Cody Phillips in the finals. Ryan broke his turbo and Dan broke something in the finals.

I was asking, why wasn't Karl Martin competing? :)

I think he's got a 9 fifty car, just wondering why I didn't his stats anywhere......

Was also curious as to what broke on Dans car..........

Also, congrats to Scheepers for not breaking!!!!!!!! Looks like he figured out why his motors keep breaking!

Let's hope he did. He's been having ignition issues for some time at least that what's he claims.

MichaelB145 06-13-06 12:24 AM

Carl Martin could not enter SRWD since he has a water to air Intercooler. That's why he ran Quick 16 which is the fastest Bracket racers.

It was cool to hang out with Dee, Quinn, Dan, Carl, and the other guys (sorry don't remember everyone)

Even though I destroyed my 3rd gear syncro....I somehow took 3rd in SRWD right behind Dan. LOL It helped I qualified with a 11.6 and got a paired up with a slower car!

Here's a video of that run......Too bad Dan broke as it would have been cool to have a video of Rotary vs Rotary (Him kicking my ass!)

Lupe,

Ken switched the Ecu's in his car. He used to run a Microtech but is now using an Electromotive TEC3. This was the first event with the TEC3 in the car.

Glad to see he did well. If he did not red light, he would have won since I believe Paul had some issues with his car on that run.

Also, from the NHRA website....

Karagiannis, from Glenwood, Md., was able to wipe the bridesmaid label off his 2006 plate by collecting his second career win with his Mazda RX7. He had been the runner-up in the last two races and finally won by defeating Paul Efantis and his Toyota Solara. Karagiannis drove to the win in 7.93 seconds at 165.54 mph. Efantis came on fast at the end, but wasn’t able to catch the quicker Karagiannis

“The third time’s a charm,” said Karagiannis. “Consistency is what wins the race. What we lack in money is made up for in dedication. We were here until 3:00 in the morning last night trying to get things right. Those late nights pay off. I want to thank Powertrain Control Solutions. They are the reason we are here.”

So, did Dan break axles or transmissions?

MichaelB145 06-14-06 12:44 PM

He blew his 2nd Tranny during the weekend.....He said he wasn't sure if the tranny would hold up since it wasn't in great shape.

Alright, I wasn't sure. The write up on urban said that he broke axles.

MichaelB145 06-14-06 02:33 PM

Maybe he was wrong and found out later that he broke his axels? I would think the tranny would go before his chromoly axels.

LUPE 06-14-06 02:37 PM

Well, I'm sure we'll hear from Dan.

I thought you had actually talked to him about it........
