rotary compression testing has certainly evolved since the first Mazda mechanical arm scribing on a tiny paper roll... of course that was before the semiconductor revolution.
after using the RCT V5 it looks like the new best in class solution.
i have had a Rotary Diagnostics compression tester since 2013 and have been very happy with it as to accuracy.
recently i did a back to back comparo and found both testers to be within a pound or so.
the primary difference being the RCT V5 eliminated the need for dragging my laptop out to download the data into a program and then doing some (simple) calculations to get accurate RPM.... and then referring to a look up table.
RPM, during a test, has a Major impact on the pressure reading... more than 250 RPM increases PSI and less than 250 decreases the pressure reading.
the RCT V5 reads the actual cranking RPM and does the adjustment for you.
