That was me, nothing special.

The regular mods will get you into the mid-high 11s, throw some gears and raise the boost a little and low 11's is pretty easy with good driving.

I just copied Brooks old car and added gears and some more fuel for higher boost.

13Bace, my neighbor , listed the mod page.

I'm sure Anthony could have pulled a better time if he would reduce some of the weight on his FD. Anthony has sleeping bags, books, spare tire in the rear, and a bunch of other **** that he leaves in there while he races. Maybe one day he will remove some things out of there.

Wouldnt all that stuff just add to the rear traction of the car?

Anthony, did you ever have ignition probs with at those boost levels??? I noticed you had bone stock ignition with no amp box or anything. If you dont mind me asking what plugs were you running and did you just run them at the track or all the time?

Thanks man,

STEPHEN

NOPE, never had any problems whatsever. That was such a sweet setup! Man, I miss those days!! I was going to get an ignition amplifier but just never got around to it.

As for running with sleeping bags lol, that was my car cover. I did run the car with a system installed also. I am getting the car ready for this next weekend. Theres a nice event at Etown Raceway.

I've been kind of busy. MY car has been running pretty well. So there's not much to do outside besides yardwork.

I was using these Greddy plugs that Rampage Racing recommended.

Slicks!

There is NO WAY I would even come close to taht time with drag radials. I tried and could not. I would only manage high 11s.

I was running street slicks or so they are called.

Mickey Thompson Street ET'S

Anthony, i pretty much have the same setup as you do but I can't get my 60'ft time below 1.9. How do you do your burnouts? (1st gear, 2nd gear) and what rpm do you launch at? thanks in advance!

I do my burnouts in 1st gear only. I run through the water box, spin em, move up, heat them up really nice, stage, start reving from 4-6k rpms, pin the pedal at 4k Rpms and then pop the clutch.
Thats it...

I usually launch at 5k-6k.

What tires are you using?

I'm using Toyo Proxe drag radials. They seem pretty sticky, I launch at 6-7k too but I think part of the problem is that I have factory shocks and the car doesn't squat.
Do you do a true burnout where you step on the brakes? or just rev high and let the clutch go ?

i kinda need some advice on launching a car with slicks because I really dont wont to look like a dumb *** that cant do a burn out with slicks.. I tried holding the brake with street tires and the *** end moves to the right to much!!(it was just for fun though,I dont do that at the strip!!!)

I have the stock factory shocks also but lowered springs. I do a true burnout where you step on the brakes and sit in one spot. I always run through the water box, this way they dont hook right away and you can heat them up really well.

Same as my other post, just spin in the water box, then move up to the dry area, then spin em!

Here's a link of a burnout with slicks.
