I want to use some for my new Water Injection kit. I heard that the Winshield wiper fluid contains it, but I only found 1 that said it contained methanol, and it turns soapy, so it has additives.

Any recommendations? I live in bay area, cali if that helps.

 

I run 50/50 denatured alcohol and distilled water. Both of which are available at the ACE Hardware store down the street.

Any auto parts store will carry it. Look for gas line antifreeze as it is methonal. But dont forget to read the label as there is also isoproplen alcohol also.

 

If you really want methanol, you should be able to get it maybe at Vic Hubbards Speed & Marine in Hayward....but I'd also look for someone who distributes V.P Racing fuels...or Trick fuels..Most any dirst track on a Saturday night will have someone sell "alcohol" as it's known in racing circuits. Sprint cars, late model dirt modifieds, and IMCA all run alcohol.

Warning...!!! Methanol is corrosive, and also burns 'clear'....so be mindful.
