what does this do??

what is the tube that attatches to the intake coming from behind the air pump against the firewall. I am building my own intake and do not want wastegates/blowoff valves dumping into intake.

i'm wondering the same thing. all i know is that it does blow air out, so u might not want to include this in your cold air box fabrication. if anyone knows is this pipe needs a filter or what this is, please respond.

thanks.

if the hose ur talking about attaches directly before the throttle body on the intake elbow then this is the AWS (accelerated warm-up system) hose. u can just plug it and leave it but if ur car begins to stall after starting up in cold weather then u will have to reattach it to the intake.

That might be the noisy ACV dump hose that expels extra air from the air pump. Look into the stock airbox and see if it really connects to the intake air chamber of it it just goes through a little compartment (muffler) and then exits out the side. It comes off a metal pipe right below where the upper and lower manifolds bolt together, right? That is the noisy hose and you can leave it off or try to muffle it somehow.
