I have been reading alot on nopistons.com lately.
So I figured I would share my new wisdom to others
When racing the Weber IDA i rotary applications you MIGHT run into fuel starvation problems in high power applications.
The ever helpfull Lynn Hanover has gotten a new student
One mod is to mill out the brass filterscreen-land in the intake, this will eliminate the filter and make the intake hole approximately twice as big as stock, this little mod will require a #350 needle valve in order to flow the new amount of fuel.

The other mod is to enlarge the floatbowl, the factory competetion prep manual says to weld on an additional extension bowl to the carburettor. That will work too but is a bit overkill, instead you can mill out the unused accelerator pump casting and enlarge the floatbowl that way.

by "higher power applications", is it safe to assume that we have left the realm of the average street user? i was unaware of this fuel starvation issue.

I have it mounted in the back by the fuel cell. At my fuel consumption of 1 gallon every 4 minutes, I figure it takes 11 seconds for the cold fuel to make the trip up to the carb, fast enough so that it is still cool when it reaches the carb. I don't know why it works, but my car makes more power with ice water in the cool can than without the cool can.
