Video, rotary knock/ping at 1.7 bar
I know theres a video section so if this gets moved, so be it. Just thought a few would like to hear what knock sounds like at 1.7bar. One of my fuel pumps quit on me. My pressure gauge is the left one. Middle one is boost. Notice the fuel pressure gauge did not increase like the boost gauge. Lucky for me, I run low 10AFR and water injection. The motor is running and idles fine, but for how long? Seals are Atkins with the small ends.
Knock is at the top of 3rd gear. I let off as soon as I heard the thunder. Then gave it some gas in 4th gear to see if the motor was OK. Then let it idle for 10 minutes. Restarted then drove it, everything "seems" good.???

Awesome that the motor lived.
I've taken apart engines like that and seen that instead of the apex taking the hit, the rotor face itself is totally dented in.
I can get some pics if you would like

i can confirm this... one of my motors went this way... completely trashed the entire motor... because it pinched the apex seals and they shattered and imbedded themselves into the rotors, housings and the irons were all scratched up...
Knock on wood!!!
Motor ran it's best 10.9 at 133.93 Saturday night. Still has a bit in her. Yes I agree the motor should be dead by now but she is holding together. I hope till after Nopi anyways.
It really does not matter what one does to prevent bad thing from happening, if you do it long enough something bad is going to happen. It's just the way the world works. I got lucky and only made one pass with the low fuel pressure. Having a good fuel pressure gauge saved me big time.
