What are the advantages of removing the butterflies in the UIM , and what is the process ??

you get slightly more and smoother airflow if you do it right, plus it simplifies things a little bit more. To remove them you need to grind off the tips of the screws that hold the plates on the rod, they are flared out to keep the screws from backing out. then just unscrew them and remove them. Next you need to unbolt the actuator and romeve it along with the rod, they are connected. cut out the bridge that was between the plates, to match the shape of the tb opening. Make or buy a block off plate and install it where the actuator was. If you want to do more work then port match the tb and uim to each other and voila you have better airflow.
