Took my car to the track tonight...
On street tyres my best ET was an 11.8 @ 118mph. 60ft was a 1.7!
Tyres are 225/45/17s run at 20psi. Big burnout in 2nd gear and they just hooked up! With my full slicks I ran a 1.6 60ft! lol Fuel was pump 98 octane and boost was aroun the 16-17psi mark.
I ran a few passes tonight, but kept ******* things up, gear changes, launches etc...
Car felt very strong, and will **** in a 10 when I take it back on slicks, front runners, C16 and 25psi

you're getting there! Does the Creek have the intermediate timers working yet... so are there split times and speeds?
THat is a neat 60ft for genuinely legal radials. Catchya in the morning

1.7 60' on "real" street tires??? WOW! That is incredible! Were you able to come close to that again? I suck at launching on street tires! The best that I've ever done was a 2.0. Good times though.....you must be pretty happy with that......118mph....so your putting down about 425?

Buzz - I dont think the creek has had the intermediate timers running for years!!
silvr - The tyres are Yokohama A032Rs, so yes they are real street tyres!! Best time apart from the 11.8 @ 118 was a 12.0 @ 116 on slightly less boost. 425 sounds about right for the night. It was stinking hot and humid as all hell. Not exactly spot on conditions for quick times

Here is the time slip. As a reference to the new exhaust housing/blade and the traction of the Ao32Rs, the best 60ft I ran with full slicks and 20+psi was a 1.604...

Thanks Node!
silvr - Yeah, looks that way doesn't it? I was just making sure I got off the line right. With slicks its easier, just rev and dump

I got this shot from a track side photographer! With front runners it will lift the fronts for sure!

Kabooski - They are a custom design. Just about every workshop in Aus has their own design. The size and internal bellmouths are the main differences. Below that plenum will be a weber style lower inlet manifold.
Some designs don't have the throttle before the plenum, they will have it under the plenum on the two runners with throttle butterflies on each. Size is usually always above 50mm across.
silvr - Yeah thats Sydneys Eastern Creek. Great facilities as far as seating goes, but organisation and track prep are crap. The first 100ft or so of the track is prepared and then after that it goes to a normal circuit type surface (the 400m is run up the length of the main straight of the raceway.) We haven't had anything quicker than a high 7 (in a street car) on the track for years as it is too dangerous
lx - Thanks man! Good to see someone likes the best generation 7 there is /flame suit on

Eastern Creek is only sanctioned to run "street" cars, so supposedly management make you demonstrate that your car is street registered. Hence why competition cas cant run there anymore. It is the only drag strip in Sydney, the largest population centre in the country. This is the reason why many Aussies and local workshops have persevered with street / pro street - otherwise there is simply nowhere within a 7 or 10 hour drive to run the car at!
The racing circuit runs in the opposite direction to the drag strip, so the track prep cannot go onto the circuit racing line as it becomes dangerously slippery in the wet. Effectively the first 100ft of the strip is actually the run-off from the main straight!
Management of the facility is poor and they have made some bad decisions in the past, one partly responsible for the death of a high profile street car driver a year ago today. They have been very keen to pocket the regular income from the racers, but have not been supportive of the sport. Pity.
Anyway, a purpose built facility is being carved out of the ground as we speak. AJC-13B will be able to tell us how good it is to run 10's on a prepped home track in about a year or so (however expect his first ten on the dodgy, lumpy, slippery surface well before that!)

hey, raymond terrace up near newcastle will hopefully have a grade a drag strip up and goin in about a year so we will have two to choose from then.
hey ajc13b, my brother was racing the same day you were there. the track was pathetic, wish they would put some of the money they make back into track.

I didn't think the track was too bad actually! The car did a 1.7 60ft on street tyres!!
I heard about the Newcastle strip! Should be great having 2 strips so close to each other!!!

awww, c'mon Steve, the last 1200 feet of the creek are just like any other bit of road, no traction preperation - and just as bumpy. It would be just like running the numbers on the street... and no-one would do that...
we should have a strip in Canberra within 12 months if the govt pull thier fists out...
