When you NEED race gas for it to just drive down the road. It's a personal preference thing. I think, that if you can't drive it for a 4hr trip.....then it's probably too much for you.

Quite the interesting topic. Here's my question for the people running 400rwhp & above. What real purpose would it serve to drive everyday. In my opinion your putting your "project" through hell in stop & go traffic. It wants to break free, but everytime it's about to theres a car or stop light in front of you. I know here in Central Florida, traffic is hell(I4 Specifically). Give me 350hp in an import(Of any kind) & i'm set. I can work out its sweetspots during the first few days.
As far as V8s being good daily drivers. It depends on the size of your wallet. I don't know about where you all are at, but gas prices are rising around here. Rotaries too, all of us here know how much they drink gas. I have an N/A & mine sees $20 in gas rather frequently.
DrPmJ, exactly how often do you break 180mph on a daily basis? I'm no rockets scientist, but after a few of those 180mph runs something is bound to go wrong. I'm not denying your skills though, because i'm sure your car is built like pam anderson.
A good daily driver type car, in my opinion would be an Acura Integra GSR w/ simple bolt ons & not so many aftermarket parts on there that you have to watch your back everytime you turn the corner to your place of residence. Not to mention, Honda/Acuras get damn good gas mileage. Plus they can be fixed for pocket change

Oh yeah, direct freak. I like your run down list of autos. Its like my dream to have that setup, not those specific models but still. The T/C project, the S/C hauler, the late model vert to make girlies go ooooooo
