Tens!
Well, I have finally joined the 10 second club!!!
For those that don't know I have a 1985 RX-7 with a 13B Turbo
We had to track down a weird boost problem in the morning (faulty wastegate), but managed to get it sorted and did a quick tune and then straight up to Willowbank (Queensland, Australia) for the Saturday Test n Tune.
Test n Tune was really busy, it took me an hour and a half to get my first run!
I stuffed the launch a bit and it bogged down, but it was moving from half
track on, and I knew it was a quick one when I crossed the line, sure enough...
10.99@130mph ! Talk about just making it!
On the 2nd run I nailed the launch with my best ever 60' time of 1.46, lifting
the front wheel up off the ground a good distance. I ran my best half track by a long way (106mph!) and then screwed up in the deepend (I was still laughing at the launch!) rolled through for 10.81 at only 118mph! :o
On the final pass my launch was a little slow but the rest of the run was fine, 10.82 @ 127mph
Special Thanks to my mate Scott who works on the car with me. Matt Spry for going out of his way on Saturday. And Dom Rigoli for letting me borrow a Wastegate!
It was on a mission on the 2nd pass so I know there's a bit more left in it even if I don't change anything.
Here's a vidcap photo of the launch too!
