I am building my car up and was wondering if the stock flywheel has a tendancy to explode? The reason being down here in in the DFW area we race at Ennis (Texas Motorplex) and you are "supposed" to have an aftermarket flywheel. I have some buddies into DSM's and after you start making over 350+ hp the stock FW can explode.

 

i doubt a rx7 flywheel would explode...

i think these are some of hte biggest flywheels found on any engines.

i wouldn't worry too much about it.

 

really high rpms will make em explode, never heard of one going from to much power though
