speed increase

Hi, can anyone give my any information on the the best way to increase my speed in 5th gear? After about 90-100 mph I pull about a 1 mph increase every 10 seconds and if the road isn't completely flat forget about going faster.

I have also wondered if it is exceedingly difficult to make a 91 non-turbo in a turbo machine. Has anyone done this?

thanks

If you are trying to accelerate fast then 5th gear is the wrong gear for 90mph. I would be in 4th until 140mph or so then shift to 5th.
You want to convert from a 91 non-turbo to a Turbo II? Get a motor swap and the gearing is a little different if you keep all the stock parts, tranny, rear end, etc.. I don;t know much about the FC and it's capabilities with a motor swap from non-turbo to turbo so the stock tranny and all might work. I don't know, but I know it fits. My friend is swapping his out this summer in his 88 GXL.

Most NA FC's will hit mid-high 15's with basic mods. Stock can vary anywhere from 15's to 17's. Depends on the Car and the Driver. One of my friends hit 16.2 almost bone stock. The potential is there, somewhere.
He removed his 5th and 6th ports and had an intake and exhaust on 18's. Now he wants to focus more on AutoX instead of drag racing since he is kind of slow.
Well my FD as well as my friends FD will run around 143 in 4th and neither of us have topped out 5th, too risky to get caught going 170-180mph. 140mph would be a nightmare as well to see a cop.
We are going to the track on Friday night to see what we can do. I am hoping for low 12's but we'll see.

an na FC will not have the power to pull it self through the air at 170-180 mph .I think Garfinkles 90 na would do about 140 . can any one do 170-180 with a stock na FC?
