So my AST exploded....can I temporarily run without it?

So, friday night headin to my friends house for poker -night, my ast springs multiple leaks, its late, and I'm 60 miles from home, so, I rout the hose that normally goes from the ast to the overflow directly to the filler neck, and drive home, seemingly no problems until I park it in my driveway, and I hear horrible spitting noises, (presumably the hot water shooting directly into my overflow.

so last night I order a petite AST from the Rx7 store, but I know it wont be here for several days...

Is it going to be safe to run like this until it arrives? Its my only running car, and I commute 25 miles each way to work, often in stop and go traffic,,,

comments Anyone?

that boiling fluid going to your overflow should be a good indicator to not run like that
