rotary in a chevy ??
I am looking to swap a two or three rotor engine into my s-10 pickup. Everyone I know says to go for the typical v8, but I just love rotary engines. I was wondering if anyone has tried using an old chevy transmission on a rotary motor (they are cheap and last pretty well) ??
I want to keep my swap around $1300 and if anyone has any advise on how to do this I would be greatfull. I have been reading a bunch of postings and it sounds like you guys know your s***, so I figured this is the place to come. Thanks.

There's a kit (cant remember where) that will help you mate a chevy TH400 automatic to a rotary. It's primarily used by drag-racers since it's so damn strong and will take just about whatever you throw at it. As far as puting it in the truck, you'll need to fab up some mounts as well as get a standalone (that alone will surpass your budget of $1300). I really don't think it's a good idea. Reason being, those trucks aren't light and nimble like a 7, they need low end torque to get moving, and that's not something a rotary produces. I know of a few people who have swapped V8s into S10s and made some pretty impressive power, I advise you to go that route.
Sorry to burst your bubble, as I love the rotary too, but some things just aren't practical.
