Is it true that the air pump can malfunction if you replace the stock intake with a performance intake?
I've read that if the air pump sucks in to much hot air, it will break.

The rumor is that warmer air will cause the airpump life to shorten. It won't just instantly die though.

FYI, I ran an open air (hot air) intake for 3 years without the airpump failing (and the airpump was already 4 years old at that time).
