Yea, that was one of the reasons I was going to use 304. Exactly how hard is a cast aluminum or iron housing?? When was the last time you heard of someone breaking a dowel pin? How much force do you think would be exerted on each one when there are 20 instead of just 2. I would rather replace $200 worth of dowels than a 20B housing that is no longer made, you could always have the 2nd set heat treated to be a little harder if they bent, or made a little thicker.

I think not including the machining in the housings it was going to cost me $4 a piece to have 304 pins made to do an entire 13B block. That is a far cry from $10.22 a piece plus shipping. They would be cheaper yet per piece if you made an extra set or two to play with.
