Hey guys......I went to Cecil Co. dragstrip last night. Thought I might run well with it being cooler out and more air getting to my FMIC with my new GTC front end. Well something sure worked well. I almost matched my best et....and mph went up from 116 to 119mph!! Hell w/ that mph......I may be able to go 11.4's....
This was on BFG drag radials. I just ordered Mickey Thompson ET streets that I'll mount on my old stock wheels. I should really hook up w/ those. Im going the NIRA event next Sunday at Englishtown so I'll keep you guys posted.
....BTW....This was on 16lbs of boost...

I dyno tuned for 12.5lbs of boost at KD Rotary to 340rwhp.
I was going to go back up and tune for 16lbs of boost, but Dave told me it wasn't necessary because my lambda reading were in the high 11's low 12s A/F ratio...and thats where he likes them. He said at 16lbs of boost I should be around 370rwhp.
This is the shortcut for my dyno sheet at 12.5lbs of boost..

Because of the cool weather and 3.5 psi boost increase I bet you were over 380 rwhp. The times are really great for stock twins.
I'm impressed. Maybe skip the single turbo conversion next spring. Ha Ha. I'd probably wait till the stock twins blow up and then go single. Have you decided which single you are going to. Dave has my T04e kit installed. I'll be picking up my car in the next 2 weeks. He has the Aquamist installed too, including it's 4 gallon fuel cell.
Next time out there might want to check it out.

Ken,
Is that the HKS T04E? If so, are you retaining the emissions equipment? I was told you could with the HKS turbos. Let me know what kind of power you make.
Im thinking of the KKK single turbo set up from Ray Locheed. It supposed to be good for 540rwhp at only 19lbs. of boost, but if you like your setup I may go in that direction especially if you can remain emissions legal.(Im in MD)

Mine was the xs-engineering GB t04e kit. Good low end dyno curve. The t04s kit is the one for high HP, over 500 if you boost it up alot. Dave said mine s/b good for over 400 rwhp at 15psi. That's all I need and I like the low end power. I'm not going to the drag strip, I just want reliable car with low end power and a peak of 400 is good enough for me.
I'm hoping when I get the results of the water injection it will be as good as I'm expecting.
I'll be happy with one of KDR's 400rwhp grocer getters.
Boy, did that wankawankel guy get ripped at the end of the thread. I liked Dave's Mullet post. I did not know he was that humerous. Never met Dave, but am looking forward to it.

The max one can push stock twins is debatable. Some say anything over 15lbs and your pushing them beyond their efficiant point. I know some (T&R racing) that push as much as 19lbs of boost on stock twins. So it depends. Now it will take its toll on them. The seals will start to go after pushing this much boost, but it doesn't concern me because Im going single turbo this spring.

I guess your referring to the 7 month old post that somebody responded to in the 3rd genn section. Look at the date the post originated. I blew my motor last March. Its been replace with a KDR spec street ported motor along with a slew of other mods.
Congrats Ernie, hopefully with the ET Streets you can get your short times down into the low 1.60s.
When Anthony ran 11.1x it was in the low 30Fs. So the low temps can make a big difference. One important thing that people forget is, most people running the higher boost levels have upgraded part of there fuel system.

ernie when running at high boost like that it doesn't affect your motor? i know you plan on going single but isn't it still a risk/ excuse my ignorance, i am still in the learning process.

Luigi,
No its not a risk at all. As long as you have the fuel to compensate your boost levels, you'll be fine. Now, within reason of course. Don't go running 25lbs of boost on pump gas, but I just ordered a Greddy T78 single turbo and will be running about 20lbs of boost at the drag strip and 15lbs on the street.

your times will get lower
Was this your first time at the track? When you get the mickey thompsons I will guarantee a lower time somewhere in the low 11's(like 11.2) MT really grab nicely. Did you power shift, what was your launch rpm, 60ft?
i am learning that fuel is a key factor when upgrading. since you will be going single now do you think you'll switch your power fc for a haltech, or do you think it will be just fine.

Hey Ernie,
Congrats on your nice run !!! I know you must be excited. I am sure when you bolt on the M/T Street you will run a LOT better. If you up your boost a little more and cut a good 60ft you might just break into the 10s !!! Even if you don't I am sure you will come close by just bolting on the ET Streets.
If you don't get your tires in time I have a set already mounted on stock Mazda wheels if you would like to borrow for this weekend. Just don't run anything faster than 11.1 !!!
I think Romeo from T and R will be running this weekend hoping to better his 10.5 so I might be there. Just a note.....When I ran high boost I had an HKS AIC mounted on a Greddy elbow combined with a Pettit ECU. Make sure you have enough fuel if you raise the boost.

Nice run Ernie! I'll be at Maple Groves this Saturday with some friends. I'm not sure if I'll run my FD or not - just hit 1000 miles on the street-port - plus I have no drag radials or slicks - just 245-40ZR18 Nittos - eek. I floored it in second today and spun the tires from 30-65 mph
I'll be happy if I can get into the 12's on street tires at 13 psi of boost. I have to pick me up some tires sooner or later. Again, nice run Ernie.

WoW!! Those are great times on stock twins!!!! I was wondering what drag radials are good for the stock rims!! I am running about 275-280 to the wheels right now. Definately upgrading further but want to start practicing at this power level!! Thanks for info!! G!

On stock wheels, you can run the Nitto drag radial. The BFG is better, but they don't make them in our size. Or you can buy yourself and extra set of stock wheels and mount some Mickey Thompson ET streets on them.
